As long as they don’t release new versions of this device every year and deprecate the older ones, it is good to go.

But seeing how Qualcomm keeps pushing new chipsets in market every year, this task seems impossible and Oculus would definitely go for new generations with upgraded silicon.

I would like to get full hardware/software support for at least 3 years.
